i love both my boys. They came to my life and my world changed.

Right now, though, my elder son, [livejournal.com profile] darkmuffin has become such an ... amazement to me. He... i don't have the words.

We were talking about how the winter holidays are going to be very slim this year. And he replied, "That is ok. I have too much stuff, anyway." At ten, he is so perceptive about some things. Perhaps too much so. That saddens me.

It is easy to forget that he is only ten... he isn't a teen, he isn't a little adult... he is a child with a child's needs and emotional development. Sometimes i forget that. And it isn't fair to him. To either of us.
[livejournal.com profile] scootercomputer: Can i play Super Smash Brothers Brawl, please?

[livejournal.com profile] damashita (me): No, you can't. Your brother is doing schoolwork and it is his game, so it wouldn't be fair for you to play it.

[livejournal.com profile] scootercomputer: But life is not fair, Mom. So can i play it? Life is not fair, so i should be able to play it! Please!

i just love it when my own words bite me in the butt.
