i know a lot of my friends are doing NaNoWriMo... writing a novel in a month. While i think it is a great (and challenging) endeavor, it isn't one that will work for me. 1) i have no story at the moment that wants to be told and 2) i have not the time to focus uninterrupted long enough to write significant word-age each day.

So... i have decided to do alter it a bit for me. Every day i will write at least one piece of poetry-ish stuff.... free-form short prose, haiku, the like. At the end of a month, i may have enough to do a hand-made poetry book. We'll see.

Three i have done so far...

Quiet, Awake
Early morning light yet a dream
Sleep a distant memory.
My brain stumbles in
unproductive, incomprehensible
circles.

Bright orange autumn moon
Pregnant full above the trees
Soon to birth winter

Limbs twist together
Writhing naked, intertwined
Fall in the forest
